I once read somewhere that “… it all starts when someone decides to sell something”. I’m paraphrasing, of course.
A major part of that “selling” is persuasive speech, or public speaking, broadly speaking. Belonging to the profession of Brand Marketing and having spent 9 years or so teaching adults (undergrads and grad students), I, by default, developed skills in this area. I also get nervous in the stomach when I have a presentation to make, but I have learnt to harness that nervousness into impactful delivery of words. Or so I’d like to think 🙂
